Folksy Friday - Amigurumi Zoo Part 2...

...CREATE YOUR OWN LITTLE CRITTERS!

Following my FF post two weeks ago, introducing you to some fantastic wee creatures, I had loads of positive feedback - and it seems lots of you are interested in giving the art of Amigurumi a go yourself!

(I have been giving it a go myself - with mixed results - and have been asked to write a guest post all about it on a very well regarded craft blog  - but more of that another time...!!)

So this week I thought I would showcase a selection of Amigurumi Patterns available to buy on Folksy... there are plenty more available from each of the sellers I have chosen, so please click the link under each picture and see what other gorgeous little animals you could make.

So, come on now, get those needles out and give it a go!
(If I can do it, really, anyone can - and it's VERY addictive!)

Folksy Friday - Amigurumi Zoo

Although I find the name a bit of a tongue twister, I really do lovely the current craze for amigurumi!

For those of you who don't already know, amigurumi is the japanese art of creating small crocheted or knitted stuffed animals.  It has taken off a storm in the crafting world - and I have untold admiration for all the artists who carry the art off successfully.  I am a knitter, but I'm afraid the art of crochet is totally beyond me!  I tried it once and just ended up tying my fingers together, and despite later practise I have retired my crochet hook and  decided to leave it to the experts. I do however, plan to have a go at the knitting version - at the moment I am just master of the jumper! But I will let you know how I get along...

In the meantime, here are some very gorgeous, very cute, very clever little characters, who are all looking for a new home...

What Gets Your Goat??

A couple of weeks ago it was mine and Hubby's first wedding anniversay (aaaaaah, true love!) and being a lovely sunny day we decided to shirk all chores and go out for the afternoon. Our choice of venue for this excursion may seem a little strange...

We visited the Bucks Goat Centre near Stoke Mandeville in Buckinghamshire, as we are both animal lovers and had been wanting to visit for a while. And here is a photo record of our visit:

And they say romance is dead...!
